Enjoy the extended fall with a run in the woods at Mahomet this weekend.
Here’s the list of upcoming races.
— Run for the Library
This 5K run and walk is at 9 a.m. Saturday at Lake of the Woods in Mahomet. The race benefits the Mahomet Public Library and the Mahomet Rotary Club.
You can register on race day from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. For an entry form, go to www.mahometpubliclibrary.org and click on the link in the middle of the page.
— Gettin’ on Track 5K
This 5K run and walk is at 9 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion High School. The race is sponsored by the Mt. Zion Track Backers, a booster group that supports junior high and high school track and cross-country programs in Mt. Zion.

— Jingle Bell 5K
Here’s one of the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell 5K runs/walks, in Bloomington. It’s at 1 p.m. Sunday at Heartland Community College.

Weekend of Nov. 20-21:
— Mattoon Santa Chase
This is a half-marathon and 5K on Saturday, Nov. 20. The half-marathon starts at 12:55 p.m. and the 5K at 1 p.m. and they immediately precede Mattoon’s holiday parade. The races benefit the Mattoon Youth Wrestling Club.

— Tumbling Turkey 5K
This is a cross-country 5K race to be run on the Junior College Regional cross-country race course at Winter Park in Danville. The race starts at 10 a.m. and there’s a walker category as well.
The race is put on by Vermilion County Fun Run, an organization that puts on youth races in the summer. The Tumbling Turkey 5K is a fundraiser for next summer’s fun runs.

— Turkey Trot 5K and 10K
These races are organized by the Decatur Park District. They’re at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, in Fairview Park. There are the 10K and 5K runs and a 5K walk. You can register on race day beginning at 8 a.m. You’ll save a few dollars if you register by Nov. 18.

Weekend of Nov. 27-28:
— Turkey Trot
The Urbana Park District puts on this free event on the morning of Thanksgiving every year. It’s not a race. It’s a 1-mile fun run or walk. But you can always run or walk more.
There’s hot chocolate and raffle prizes afterward, and the park district will be accepting donations to its Youth Scholarship Fund.
The Trot is at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 25, at the Lake House in Crystal Lake Park.
— FOLEPI River Trail Classic
This is a 4-mile run and a 2-mile (non-competitive) walk in East Peoria on Saturday, Nov. 27. The run starts at 9 a.m. and the walk at 8:30 a.m. The course is the River Trail, a paved and downhill course, according to the website.
The race is $12, or $26 if you also want a hooded sweatshirt. You have to order the sweatshirt by Nov. 18.

— Stuff ‘N Puff 5K
This is a 5K run and walk in Sullivan at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27. Save $5 if you register by Nov. 20.
