Good luck to everyone doing the Champaign Park District Mini-tri on Saturday. I’ll be swimming this weekend at Evergreen Lake. The Fit List has runs, rides and tris coming up. Here’s the list:

Weekend of Aug. 4-5:
Two Rivers Century
This Kankakee County bicycle ride on Sunday offers six distances — 22, 47, 62, 80, 100 or 124 miles.
There are rest stops about every 20 miles and post-ride showers available. The rides start and end at the Splash Valley Aquatic Park in Kankakee.

Villa Grove Ag Days 5K
This race is on Saturday in Villa Grove. There’s a 5K run and a 5K walk.

Run 4 Raley
This is a 5K run, a 1-mile walk and a kids’ run on Saturday in Philo. The race is a fundraiser for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, and is held in memory of Raley Lynn Kirby, who died from mitochondrial disease at 7 weeks old.
Online registration is closed, but you can register on race day, beginning at 7 a.m.
The event this year includes a raffle and silent auction. Live music by the Brat Pack and a beer tent beginning at 7 p.m. will benefit Hope4Aubree, which raises money for memory kits for parents who lose a baby.

Run for Rick “Heart of Gold” Memorial 5K
This is a 5K run and walk on Saturday at Tipton Park in Bloomington.
The race is in memory of Rick Smalley, and the proceeds benefit the Rick Smalley Memorial Fund and the American Heart Association. For more information or to register, go to

Tom Short 5K Trail Run
This is a 5K trail run and 1-mile fun run/walk on Saturday in Shelbyville. The race proceeds will help build and maintain the General Dacey Trail in Shelbyville.
You can enter as an individual or as part of a 5-person team.
Runners and their families can swim at the Shelbyville Aquatic Center after the race.

Thursday, Aug. 9:
Illinois State Fair Parade Run
You can help kick off the Illinois State Fair with this 2-mile run preceding the fair parade on Thursday evening.
You can register online through Sunday and from 3 to 4:45 p.m. on race day. The race starts at 5:30 p.m.

Weekend of Aug. 11-12:
This is a 5K run and walk and a kids 1K fun run in St. Joseph on Saturday, Aug. 11. The race is a fundraiser for the St. Joseph middle school and high school cross country programs.

Evergreen Lake 5K
This is a 5K run/walk and a kids 1/4-mile fun run on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Evergreen Lake at Comlara County Park, near Hudson. This is a Lake Run Club event. Proceeds benefit the McLean County Parks & Recreation Department and the Miracle League of Central Illinois.

Cruisin’ the Cornfields
This is the Sullivan Area Arts Bicycle Tour, on Saturday, Aug. 11. It benefits Sullivan Area Arts.
There are two routes: 16 miles and 41 miles. The rides start and end at Wyman Park in Sullivan.

Power Up 5K Run
This 5K run and 2-mile walk is in Gibson City on Saturday, Aug. 11. You can register on race day from 6 to 7 a.m. Here’s a link to the race flier.

Abe’s Tri Series
This series includes the Stovepipe Sprint Triathlon and Railsplitter Triathlon on Saturday, Aug. 11, in Petersburg. The Stovepipe Sprint includes a 500-yard swim, a 13-mile bike ride and a 5K run. The Railsplitter is a .9-mile swim, a 24.8-mile bike and a 10K run. The run for both events goes through the New Salem State Historic Site. The Railsplitter bike ride goes through the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Park.

Mid August Meltdown
This is an Olympic distance triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 12, at Lake Sara Beach in Effingham. Distances are: .9-mile swim, 26-mile bike ride and 10K run.

Wildlife Wild MTB Race
If you want to do some mountain bike racing, this event is at Wildlife Prairie State Park, northwest of Peoria, on Sunday, Aug. 12. It’s part of the Illinois Homegrown Race Series, and this race is sponsored by the Peoria Area Mountain Bike Association.
