R.I.P. Joe Seeley

Very sad news – Joe Seeley passed away this weekend.

Joe was a longtime runner, youth soccer coach, a key part of the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon organization, a Human Kinetics employee, and a husband and father.

He was a strong supporter of local running and youth soccer. He touched many lives in the community, and he will be missed.

I thought about Joe on my run this morning, and I know many of the runners, walkers and volunteers at this morning's Women's Fitness Run (organized by Jan Seeley) were thinking of him as well.

Count your blessings if you are healthy enough to run, walk, play soccer or do whatever activity you love.

Here is a post from the Illinois Marathon Facebook page, and here is a column about Joe that was published in The News-Gazette in early September.
