Illini volleyball player Jazmine Orozco is expected to be unavailable for a second straight match tonight against Ohio State.
The backup right-side hitter was not in uniform Friday night against Penn State due to concussion symptoms, according to UI coach Kevin Hambly. Hambly said Orozco was injured during warmups before the Nov. 5 match at Indiana when she collided with teammate Annie Luhrsen. Orozco appeared in one set that night against the Hoosiers.
After Friday's match, Hambly said Orozco also would not play against the Buckeyes.
The sophomore suffered a brain contusion in late February at USA Volleyball´s open tryouts when she was hit in the head by a ball. After that injury, Orozco was held out of the Illini's spring training and exhibition period.
However, until Friday night, Orozco had been available for all of the Illini's matches this season, appearing in 20 of the first 25 matches.
