At least two Illini baseball games will be shown live on the Big Ten Network this season.
BTN announced its schedule of televised baseball games for the 2013 season Thursday, and the list includes Purdue at Illinois on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m; and Illinois at Ohio State on Sunday, April 21, at 11 a.m.
The Illini could be on BTN additional times because the network plans to carry four "wildcard" games. The teams, dates and sites of those contests will be announced later as they are scheduled.
BTN also will show the entire Big Ten baseball tournament, which is scheduled for May 22 to May 25 or 26, depending on whether a second championship game is required for the double-elimination event. The tournament will be held at Target Field, the home ballpark of the Minnesota Twins, in Minneapolis.
BTN's softball broadcast schedule includes three Illini games: Nebraska at Illinois on Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m., and an Illinois at Iowa doubleheader on Tuesday, April 23, at 3 p.m. The Illini-Cornhuskers game will be shown tape-delayed.
