Live tweets from the Champaign candidate forum

I'll be live tweeting from the Champaign candidate forum tonight from the Champaign City Council chambers. I don't trust the WiFi in the council chambers, so I can't promise a live blog, but I'll have plenty of updates here: @patrick_wade.

We're just getting started here -- the format is a bit different than the debate last week. The candidates will be fielding questions from the audience tonight, so I expect this will be the first time the candidates publicly address (in an election-related forum, anyway) Mayor Jerry Schweighart's YouTube appearance last year during which he questioned the birthplace of President Barack Obama.

The forum is sponsored by the NAACP and League of Women Voters. The school board candidates are here tonight, too. Dr. Sandra Kato of the University of Illinois is our moderator tonight.

So keep your eyes on Twitter for this one. It should be a little less scripted and could get interesting.
