Mayor-elect Gerard assembles 'transition team'

With just a few weeks left before he takes office, mayor-elect Don Gerard is preparing to take over as the city's top elected official. From a press release:

Mayor‐elect Don Gerard has assembled a team to assist with his transition into the Mayor’s office. Transition team members have been asked to help with the downloading and dissemination of information from various departments in the city.

Team members will assist Mayor‐elect Gerard by asking questions and making suggestions to the overall structure and efficiency of city government. Team members will not be evaluating staff or their performance.

Transition team members include: Laurie Bonnet, Paul Faraci, Peter Fox, Rochelle Funderburg, Jeff Kibler, Doug Larson, Donte’ Lotts, Jim McGuire, Dr. William Patterson, Jim Turner, and Scott Whitsitt.

The names I recognize: Laurie Bonnett is state Sen. Michael Frerichs' chief of staff. Paul Faraci is the newly-elected District 5 city council member. Peter Fox is a local developer. Rochelle Funderburg is a Champaign Public Library board member. Doug Larson is the president of Joe's Brewery, which donated $12,000 to Gerard's campaign. Jim McGuire recently lost his bid (to Faraci) for the District 5 city council seat.

The other names elude me for the moment, but I'll have more on this later.

And another thing that I'll have more on later: Gerard filed his campaign contribution report with the Illinois State Board of Elections last night. Outgoing Mayor Jerry Schweighart still has yet to do so. The deadline is Friday.
