Rainfall potential on Memorial Day...

A sunny sky accompanied by comfortable humidity levels will occur today.  The next chance for showers and thunderstorms occurs late Sunday night and continue into Memorial Day.  Prior to this, however, a very warm, more humid, but dry Sunday is expected here and at “The Brickyard” for the big race.

Meanwhile across the Corn Belt, the combination of warm weather and abundant soil moisture remains favorable for corn and soybean emergence and growth.

Elsewhere, a cold front will cross the Plains on Sunday and the Midwest on Monday. The front will reach the East Coast on Tuesday.

During the next 5 days, the Southwest will remain mostly dry, while precipitation could total as much as 1 to 3 inches across the northern Plains and the Southeast.
