Windy & colder...
For the remainder of the week, rain will gradually shift from the South into the East. Storm-total rainfall may exceed an inch in parts of the East, with higher totals possible along the Atlantic Seaboard.
During the weekend, much colder, windy weather will prevail in the storm’s wake across the eastern one-third of the U.S.
In contrast, warmth will encompass the western and central U.S. Aside from the rain across the South and East, significant precipitation will be confined to the Northwest.
Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for above-normal temperatures across the eastern half of the U.S., while cooler-than-normal weather in the West. Meanwhile, above-normal precipitation from the Northwest to the Midwest will contrast with drier-than-normal conditions across the nation’s southern tier.
