Bitter cold wave ahead...

A strong storm system will pass to our north, keeping, initially, the area mild with periods of rain. As colder air comes rushing in, the rain will change to light snow with winds increasing Saturday night and especially on Sunday. Snow accumulations of an inch to three inches will be possible Saturday night into Sunday. Wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph can be expected over the area on Sunday along with some very cold temperatures and wind chills. Wind chills of 5 below to 15 below zero are expected late Sunday through Monday morning.

The blast of very cold air in the storm’s wake will bring freezes early next week as far south as southern Florida.
