Spring-like for now...

Dry and much warmer conditions are expected for St. Patrick's Day. Temperatures Thursday will remain above normal, reaching the 60s to around 70 degrees.  Mostly sunny skies are forecast early in the day before high clouds start returning later in the afternoon. Gusty winds are also foreseen.  Meanwhile, moisture levels will begin to increase ahead of the next cold front Thursday night and Friday, resulting in occasional, scattered showers and thundershowers.

Elsewhere, an active weather pattern will prevail across the northern half of the U.S. From the northern Plains into the Northeast, 5-day precipitation totals will be mostly less than an inch.  However, as much as 5 inches may fall in the Pacific Northwest. In contrast, mostly dry weather will cover the nation’s southern tier.
