A wet and active pattern continues...

The slow-moving storm currently developing over the Rockies and Great Plains will generate significant rainfall over the eastern half of the Nation through the weekend.  In the south, heavy rain is forecast for the Delta, but little moisture is expected to reach the southern High Plains and the far Southeast, including Florida and southern Georgia. The wetness will exacerbate local flood conditions in the Midwest, but little, if any, rain is forecast for the Red River Valley.

Meanwhile, showers will linger throughout the Northwest, as seasonably drier conditions prevail in the Southwest.

The 6- to 10-day outlook for shows that there is a high likelihood of more, recurring wet weather throughout the Midwest, which would be problematic for planting corn and other summer field crops.
