Bar of the Week: The Blind Pig
120 N. Walnut St., Champaign, 61824
Phone: (217) 398-1532
Web site: http://www.blindpigco.com/
Intended to be a British-style "Pub," the Blind Pig's main aim is to offer a pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. Adding to this is the absence of any televisions or electronic games. As evidenced by its opening hours, this is a place to go after work to relax with friends and enjoy a quiet conversation.
They have a variety of beers on tap, and the menu changes somewhat regularly. Current favorites include "Three Floyd's Robert the Bruce," "Alpha King" and "Duchesse de Bourgogne," although the latter is an acquired taste.
Kayla, one of the bartenders, describes the bar as "cozy, comfortable and friendly laid back."
