The Champaign County Farm Bureau, in cooperation with the Champaign County Chamber of Commerce Agri-business Committee, will host The Washington Food Fight, a discussion of the Food vs. Fuel debate and the 2007 Farm Bill. If you eat or drive a car, this informational session is for you! Local agricultural policy experts will discuss this agricultural legislation and where we currently stand from a non-agricultural perspective. Bob Thompson, PhD. endowed chair in Agriculture at the University of Illinois, Kevin Johnson, District aid to United States Representative Timothy Johnson and Ron Warfield, Instructor of Agricultural Business and Policy at the University of Illinois will discuss how the Farm Bill and other trends in agriculture affect bio-fuels, commodities, supermarket prices, and you. The Washington Food Fight will be held at the Champaign County Farm Bureau, 801 N. Country Fair Drive, Champaign, on March 7. Doors open at 7:15 a.m. with a breakfast meal served at 7:30 a.m. followed by insight from our experts. Cost is $10 per person and includes breakfast.
