They are classified as a modern dance company, but that is a bit like saying a Porsche 911 is "a compact car." Diavolo's company members are, first of all, athletes. More precisely, they are athletes who are dancers, gymnasts, actors, and teammates. They climb, leap, fall, soar, roll, and spin, responding to sets and props that run the gamut from everyday household objects to surrealistic architectural objects.
