The women of Kappa Delta Sorority would like to do whatever is possible to aid in the prevention of child abuse, and we are asking for your help. For over 20 years, Kappa Delta chapters across the nation have pulled together in our efforts to prevent child abuse through out national philanthropy, Shamrock Event. Last year the women of Sigma Omicron chapter at the University of Illinois raised over $14,000 for the prevention of child abuse through out our St. Patrick's Day inspired Shamrock Event! This year our Shamrock Event will be held March 10-14. In order to raise funds, we will be can shaking for spare change, selling T-shirts, and requesting donations from Sigma Omicron alumnae, family, and friends. In addition, we will be hosting a Chili Dinner at our chapter house on Wednesday, March 12. The Chili dinner will be $5 and tickets will be sold at the door. Eighty percent of the total money raised will be donated to the Crisis Nursery of Champaign County. The remaining 20 percent will be given to Prevent Child Abuse America.
