This is our major fundraising event to support our local scholarships to Parkland College and the University of Illinois plus the National Educational Foundation and Legal Advocacy Fund. Make reservations by March 21 by calling Phyllis Cline at 344-4806. $20 for first person, $15 for each additional person. Program by Mindy Miron Basi on "Women in the Video Game Industry" Mindy is a freelance writer in the video game industry, weekly editorial columnist on Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOs) for IGN Vault Network, and has published articles in numerous video gaming magazines. She has a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Illinois. Gaming is becoming one of the fastest growing entertainment media. By 2008, the North American online casual game market, often considered most popular with women players, is estimated to reach $690 million. Worldwide over 150 million people play free casual games via the Internet. Over 27 million people in the U.S. own some kind of console video game player. The MMO genre of games has over 20 million players, with the popular MMO World of Warcraft alone reporting over 10 million subscriptions worldwide.For more information:
