17th Annual Orpheum Kids' Building Fair

Where:

Orpheum Children's Science Museum parking lot, 346 N. Neil St., Champaign

When:

Saturday May 17, 2008 11:00 am to 4:00 pm

Description:

Learn about, and participate in, hands-on building trade activities. This annual event is held in celebration of Historic Preservation Week to give children an educational and entertaining introduction to building trades that are involved in the preservation of historic buildings. This event is offered by the Orpheum Children's Science Museum with the Preservation and Conservation Association (PACA). We will be recognizing our friend, Bruce Creamer, in a memorial dedication--he was always involved with the building fair. New in 2008 will be Historic Building Walks of downtown Champaign sponsored by the Downtown Champaign Association, City of Champaign and the Champaign Historic Commission. Learn more about our summer camps and our summer preschool programs. Meet some of the instructors! Festivities include blacksmithing, painting, carpentry, electrical work, landscaping, masonry and more. Admission to the fair is free. Regular admission will be charged to enter the building. For children of all ages. Please visit www.orpheumkids.com or call 352-5895 with questions.
