Wolfram Research, whose flagship product is Mathematica, will be sponsoring a techMix! on May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at their offices on 100 Trade Center Drive, Champaign. Wolfram will be showcasing their new state of the art IT area which will include new workspace, shop and server room. All have been completely redesigned and rebuilt. At this mixer Wolfram will be discussing their needs for developers, IT professionals and experts in various fields outside the realm of IT and Computer Science for their "Data Paclet" initiative. Wolfram will hire 15 to 20 developers, a large number of IT/tech support people, and a significant number of people in general academic fields such as astronomy, history and library science. Wolfram will be celebrating their 20th anniversary of doing business in Champaign in July 2008. This year also marks the fourth season that Wolfram has been a technical consultant to the hit CBS prime time drama, "Numb3rs" the "Math CSI." There is no cost to attend.
