FACET (Friends Against Children's Empty Tummies) is having a bake sale, as part of Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, a national campaign that mobilizes people of all ages to help end childhood hunger in America by holding bake sales in their communities. Team FACET will hold a bake sale on June 14 at the Market at the Square in Urbana during the normal hours of the Market, from 7 a.m. to noon. Lots of baked goodies such as cookies (everything from brownies to lavender scones), truffles, breads, pies, crisps, gourmet sauces and more. Funds raised through this event will support local organizations that work to increase participation by low-income children in summer and after-school feeding programs and to support nutrition education programs for low-income families. This is our second annual GABS event. Last year's $500 goal ended up turning in $1,100! This year's goal is $1,000 so come by and help us to reach this goal and beyond!
