Family fun begins at 6 p.m., Fireworks at dusk. If the traditional Fourth of July festivities leave you wanting more, then just wait till Sunday, July 6, 2008. Arcola will again celebrate Independence Day with its annual Freedom Celebration in Moore Park, featuring live bluegrass music, activities for children, an exhibition soccer match, bingo and the fireworks. This year's fireworks show blasts off at 9:15 p.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets as the park's bleachers fill up fast.
