Description:
Battling Cancer? Make time for you before the holidays. Enjoy American Cancer Society's Look Good … Feel Better Program on Dec. 8. Look Good…Feel Better is a time for fun, relaxation and an opportunity to share with others who may be on a similar cancer journey. Trained volunteer cosmetologists lead these free sessions, which help female cancer patients cope with the effects of chemotherapy and radiation by teaching them hands-on skincare, beauty techniques and wig styling. Reservations are being taken now. Look Good…Feel Better® is a free, non-medical, product-neutral program offered through a partnership of the American Cancer Society; the Personal Care Products Council Foundation; and the National Cosmetology Association. Licensed cosmetologists demonstrate the multi-step skin and makeup program, and offer tips for enhancing appearance through the use of wigs, turbans, scarves and accessories. The class and materials, including a cosmetic kit for each participant, are provided to patients free of charge. To reserve your spot or to find out more, contact Miranda McMichaels at the American Cancer Society at 356-9076 or 800-252-1110. The session is free, but reservations are required to ensure supplies are available for each participant. The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by saving lives, diminishing suffering and preventing cancer through research, education, advocacy and service.
