Description:
For three years now, The Lincoln Circuit Ride has brought motorcyclists and others Lincoln enthusiasts in cars along the old 8th Judicial Circuit that Abraham Lincoln rode as a lawyer. At the various courthouses where Abe practiced, local historians give entertaining examples of what Mr. Lincoln did in those communities. This has been recognized as an excellent melding of history and a contemporary road event. The 2009 Lincoln Circuit Ride will be held on four different Sundays to complete the entire circuit: The first weekend begins in Springfield at 9 a.m. April 26 at 8th and Capitol, just north of Lincoln's Home. Registration at 8 a.m. at north side of the Lincoln Home, 426 S. 7th St. June 14 - departing from Postville Courthouse in Lincoln, 9 a.m. July 19 - Departing from Urbana at Carle Park, 9 a.m. Sept. 20 - Departing from Shelby County Courthouse, 9 a.m.For more information:
