Fundraising Dinner for Refugees in Pakistan

Description:

The northwestern Pakistan is undergoing a major war against the so-called "Talibaan." Pakistan is a U.S.-ally in war against terror and the exodus of refugees from the beautiful valley of Swat has resulted into a massive humanitarian crisis. The purpose of this fund-raiser is raise funds to help solve the basic problems of living for refugees, like providing them clean water, food to eat, fans in the tents under 100 F of heat. Here are some situation facts: Over 2.5 million displaced. 80 percent of displaced are women and children. 90 percent of refugees have no food, water and spare clothes. 60-70 percent of the children are traumatized. Ticket price: $10; $25 for families. Car parking: Free, provided by Hotel and also street parking in Urbana.
