The Urbana Post Office, the University of Illinois, and the Champaign-Urbana Stamp Club are joining forces to celebrate the issuance of a postage stamp in honor of Dr. John Bardeen (19081991), a 2twotime Nobel Prize winner, UIUC faculty member, and local resident. A special ceremony will be held starting at 12:15 p.m., March 6, in Room 144 of Loomis Laboratory (1110 W. Green St.) on the UIUC campus. Local and regional postal officials, colleagues and friends of Dr. Bardeen from the UIUC, and members of the Bardeen family will be participating in the ceremony. The stamp club will be offering commemorative envelopes in honor of Dr. Bardeen. There is no charge to attend.
