Pop-up galleries, glass-blowing demonstrations, open artist studios and performances — all are among the myriad events taking place this weekend as part of the 11th annual Boneyard Arts Festival.
The festival will encompass more than 100 indoor and outside venues, both traditional and not.
CHAMPAIGN — The University of Illinois School of Art + Design Master of Fine Arts Exhibition will open Saturday at Krannert Art Museum, with the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. that day.
The annual exhibition showcases works, generally cutting-edge, by the MFA candidates at the university.
URBANA — The public is invited to join Japanese artist Hisako Tsutsui in a hands-on workshop in the traditional art of mizuhiki at 1 p.m. next Sunday, the day after she gives two presentations during the Japan House Spring Open House.
CHAMPAIGN — The Krannert Art Museum Council will host its 21st annual "Petals & Paintings" benefit from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the museum, 500 E. Peabody Drive.
