CHAMPAIGN — 40 North 88 West, the Champaign County arts council, has launched a redesigned and updated website at

It offers a clean and contemporary look with interactive features for users, according to a news release from the council.

Urbana seeks arts intern

URBANA — The city of Urbana is seeking applicants for public arts intern. The pay would be $12 an hour, and the intern would work 10 hours a week for 15 weeks.

Relay for Life plans art fundraiser

CHAMPAIGN — The event chairwoman of the 2013 Relay For Life of Champaign County is seeking 100 artists to donate to a fundraiser in connection with the race, which raises money for cancer research.

MTD to display art on buses

URBANA — The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District is looking for area artists to provide work that would be displayed on the district's buses, via the new program MTD ART: Moving Pictures Through Your Neighborhood. The MTD is collaborating with 40 North 88 West, the local arts council, and Dixon Graphics on the project.

Curator brings it all together for Indy display of 'Beauty and Belief'

Soon after Superstorm Sandy hit the East Coast and flooded La Guardia Airport, New Yorkers Anne-Imelda Radice and Iris Love jumped into a car to drive 12 hours to Indianapolis.

Their destination: The Indianapolis Museum of Art exhibition "Beauty and Belief: Crossing Bridges with the Arts of Islamic Culture."

The fourth annual Champaign-Urbana Folk & Roots Festival ended on a blissful note last weekend.

As one of the organizers headed to the closing late-night jam at The Iron Post, he noticed a young woman wearing a floor-length, white wedding dress standing outside, talking on her cell phone.

Accomplished photographers will display their craft

CHAMPAIGN — An exhibition of photographs by several accomplished photographers from throughout the country will open Monday at the Parkland College Art Gallery.

The opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday will feature a talk at 7 p.m. by Parkland photography and video associate Professor Peggy Shaw, who curated the show.
