Blue Angels cancel, so Rockford AirFest postponed
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Chicago Rockford International Airport officials say they're postponing AirFest 2013 after the Blue Angels pulled out of the show.
Georgetown OKs fireworks contract
GEORGETOWN — City council members approved a three-year contract on Monday for fireworks displays during Independence Day celebrations.
Ciy officials voted to continue to use DCV Imports of Lincoln as the fireworks contractor for the city celebrations.

Ogden festival hurting for volunteers
The Ogden Celebration is in danger of not happening.
The festival, which occurs in June, is in desperate need of volunteers, said event organizer Sue Esposito,
Esposito said there are four volunteers working on the festival.
"With four volunteers we may be able to pull off a car show," she said.
Fire, police chiefs to be grand marshals on July 4
CHAMPAIGN — Champaign County fire and police chiefs have been named the grand marshals of the 64th annual Freedom Celebration to be held on July Fourth, and they will lead the ceremonies under the theme "United We Stand, Proudly We Serve," organizers announced this week.

Tolono approves permit for beer tent, bands for Fun Day
