CHAMPAIGN — Passes for the 2013 Roger Ebert's Film Festival will go on sale starting Thursday.
The passes cover all 12 or more screenings during the five-day event April 17-21 at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign. Related talks and panel discussions will be at the University of Illinois.
The passes are $145, plus processing; 1,000 passes will be available.
CHAMPAIGN — Sam Banks says he's not much of a dancer, but that won't stop him from giving his all in a local version of "Dancing With The Stars."
"Just like the show, I've got somebody coaching me," the Don Moyers executive director said.
The first Dancing With The Champaign-Urbana Stars is a fundraiser to support the Don Moyer Boys and Girls Club.
Communities around the area have set their hours for trick-or-treating on Halloween night, Wednesday, Oct. 31.

DANVILLE — The Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System will hold its annual Fall Music Festival from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Danville campus, 1900 E. Main St.
The concert will be held in the large grassy area in front of the Community Living Center, Building 101. It will be moved to the Social Activity Room in Building 104, in case of bad weather.

Psychic Joker's second annual Halloween Week of Wickedness will kick off with a party tonight that will bring together local talent and feature a video installation by Matt Harsh.
OAKWOOD — While trick-or-treating is for kids, people of all ages are invited to attend Halloweenie.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the old railroad tracks that cross Oakwood Street.
There will be food, including hotdogs and chips, for sale, as well as a variety of activities for children.
GIBSON CITY — Singers of all ages are invited to be part of the Gibson Area Music Foundation's annual presentation of Handel's "Messiah."
Rehearsals, which will be at 7:15 p.m. each Monday at the First Presbyterian Church of Gibson City, begin Oct. 29. The final dress rehearsal is Nov. 26. at the Gibson City Bible Church.
DANVILLE — The Fischer Theater is hosting two events this month, a two-part local history class about the Dixie Highway and two nights of ghost tours.
URBANA — Downtown Urbana will stage its first Tree for All festival from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday to celebrate Urbana's Tree City U.S.A. designation and the growing arts district in the city.
For the festival, downtown businesses were invited to decorate the trees outside of their stores or create tree-themed art for their windows. The festival will include:
The Champaign-Urbana Stamp Club will welcome members of the American First Day Cover Society at its 39th annual show and exhibition next weekend at the Urbana Civic Center. An AFDCS society meeting is set for Saturday afternoon.
