DANVILLE — Danville High School's Instrumental Music Boosters are selling Danville Gardens flowers cards for $10 apiece.
The cards are good for $10 worth of Danville Gardens merchandise, and proceeds will benefit the school's instrumental music programs.
To purchase a card, contact any Danville instrumental music student or Deb Hill at 446-4829.
URBANA — A local troupe of belly dancers will host a fundraising event for the Champaign County Humane Society from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at The Iron Post, 120 S. Race St.
URBANA — The public is invited to join Japanese artist Hisako Tsutsui in a hands-on workshop in the traditional art of mizuhiki at 1 p.m. next Sunday, the day after she gives two presentations during the Japan House Spring Open House.
CHAMPAIGN — The Blind Pig Brewery, 120 N. Walnut St., is having an live music benefit for the TIMES Center at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
There is no admissions charge; all profits from food and beverage sales will go to the TIMES Center, a transitional living program serving homeless men in Champaign County. Last year's event raised more than $4,000.

CHAMPAIGN — The Krannert Art Museum Council will host its 21st annual "Petals & Paintings" benefit from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday at the museum, 500 E. Peabody Drive.
CHAMPAIGN — The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Champaign County has two fundraisers coming up: one Saturday and the other next Sunday.
The first is Music For A Cure from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Rose Bowl Tavern, 106 N. Race St., U. Local musicians John Coppess, John McMahon, Anne Clements and Margaret O'Brien will perform.
One of the last emails I received from Roger Ebert came Feb. 9. Characteristically, it was about someone he was promoting, both as one of his "Far Flung Correspondents" — FFCs, the bloggers from around the world that he featured on his website — and filmmaker.
