DANVILLE — Students throughout the Danville school district flocked to computers on Tuesday, but not to do their classroom assignments.
They were eager to go on to NBC's "Today" website and vote for the person they thought should win the show's national singing competition for kids — in this case, fellow Danville student Christian Cunningham.

URBANA — Actor Nick Offerman, best known for playing Ron Swanson on the NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” comes to the University of Illinois at 8 p.m. Thursday as part of his “American Ham” comedy tour. The show will be at the Illini Union, 1401 W. Green St., U, in Illini Rooms A, B and C.
Offerman is originally from Minooka and received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the UI.
URBANA — DirecTV customers have had problems receiving WILL-TV for the last month and a half as a result of interference with the station's signal.
But what's causing the interference has yet to be determined, despite the involvement of the Federal Communications Commission.
CHAMPAIGN — Theo Gray has shared the wonders of the chemical elements with the public through a book and through iPad apps.
On Wednesday, he'll get to share them with a national TV audience as a featured guest on "Nova."
The two-hour episode of the PBS science series — to air at 8 p.m. Wednesday on WILL-TV — is called "Hunting The Elements."
