Piatt voters will have advisory say on rural lot size
MONTICELLO — Should Piatt County reduce the 20-acre minimum required for home-building on agricultural land? Voters will get a chance to chime in on this issue through an April 9 advisory referendum. The question was placed on the ballot by the Piatt County Board.

Andersons reports revenues up for 4th quarter, 2012
MAUMEE, Ohio — The Andersons Inc. on Wednesday announced net income of $79.5 million, or $4.23 per diluted share, in 2012 on revenues of $5.3 billion.
Earnings in 2011 were $95.1 million, or $5.09 per diluted share, on revenues of $4.6 billion.

URBANA — Pork producers, who have been losing money as a result of high feed prices, should see some relief mid-year, a Purdue University Extension economist said.

ASHKUM — An Ashkum-based fuel supplier has agreed to be purchased by the Bloomington-based Growmark regional cooperative.
Meier Oil Products and Manito Transit, a family-owned business since 1936, consists of a trucking company, a fuel terminal in Ashkum and bulk fuel facilities at Champaign, Sheldon, Kankakee and Pontiac.
Business roundup: Construction company files for bankruptcy
DANVILLE — Carter Construction Services Inc. of Champaign filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court on Wednesday.
The company, which listed an address of 1600 N. Oak St., C, estimated it has between 100 and 199 creditors. Both its assets and liabilities were estimated between $1 million and $10 million.
Agriculture news: Syngenta readies for expansion of Clinton facility
CLINTON — Syngenta has slated a Dec. 11 groundbreaking for a major expansion to its corn and soybean research-and-development facility in Clinton.
Upon completion, Clinton will become Syngenta's largest corn and soybean trial site in North America.
