Cities differ in handling apartment inspections
URBANA — Marvin Drennan had two days to move out of his roach-infested apartment. The balcony on the outside of his complex was in danger of collapsing, the city said, and he had to go.
"If you gotta go, you gotta go," said Drennan, who is retired now.
Piatt voters will have advisory say on rural lot size
MONTICELLO — Should Piatt County reduce the 20-acre minimum required for home-building on agricultural land? Voters will get a chance to chime in on this issue through an April 9 advisory referendum. The question was placed on the ballot by the Piatt County Board.
Home sales, prices up in February from year earlier
CHAMPAIGN — February home sales in the Champaign County area were up 13.5 percent from a year earlier, the Champaign County Association of Realtors reported.
The association's Multiple Listing Service said 109 single-family homes were sold in February, up from 96 homes in February 2012.

Residents moved from three apartment complexes in Urbana
URBANA — Residents of three apartment complexes in southeast Urbana were relocated on Thursday after the city found structural problems with the buildings, and the property manager says he is already working with an engineer to correct the issues.
