CHAMPAIGN — A development official working on a new housing community at the former site of Joann Dorsey Homes says he hopes construction there can begin as soon as July or August of this year.
URBANA — Building permits have been issued for the new Hamilton on the Park housing development that will replace Dunbar Court in north Urbana.
The 36-unit development will be built at the northeast corner of Wright and Eads streets, on the southeast side of Douglass Park.

CHAMPAIGN — A five-story, 52-unit apartment building is expected to replace the old White Horse Inn and Garcia's Pizza-in-a-Pan buildings on Green Street in Campustown.
Demolition began this week on the former White Horse Inn at 112 E. Green St., C, and workers say they also expect to demolish the old Garcia's building just to the west at 108 E. Green St., C.
CHAMPAIGN — The figures are in, and it's official: Home sales in the Champaign County area were up 21 percent in 2012 from the previous year.
Figures from the Champaign County Association of Realtors' Multiple Listing Service show 2,383 home sales were completed last year, up from 1,967 in 2011.
