CHAMPAIGN — After nine months of bargaining and a three-day strike earlier this month, a campus labor union has reached a tentative agreement with the University of Illinois.
URBANA — KoFusion will open a second location this summer, this one on the University of Illinois campus, restaurant owner Janet Bubin announced.
The cocktail lounge and sushi bar has agreed to lease nearly 3,000 square feet in Gregory Place West, the commercial complex southeast of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.

URBANA — Supervalu will cut about 1,100 positions nationwide, the Minneapolis-based grocery wholesaler and retailer announced Tuesday.
Two positions will be eliminated at its Urbana distribution center, and no positions will be cut at the W. Newell & Son produce distribution center in Champaign, company spokesman Mike Siemienas said.
MINNEAPOLIS — Supervalu's new CEO continues to shake up the management ranks, but he's keeping the head of the company's wholesale and distribution business.
Sam Duncan said Friday that Janel Haugarth will continue to oversee that business, which is expected to account for nearly 50 percent of the company's annual revenues.
CHAMPAIGN — With the number of vacant houses across the nation on the upswing, Illinois is expanding a program that gives buyers of vacant houses up to $10,000 toward their downpayment and closing costs.

Atwood named bank president. Michael W. Atwood has been named president of First State Bank, succeeding John W. Corley, who held the position for 31 years.
Corley remains chairman of the board at the Monticello-based bank.
Chico's and American Eagle Outfitters plan to open stores at Tanger Outlets in Tuscola this spring.
Chico's, a women's clothing chain that has a store at Champaign's Old Farm Shops, plans to open the Tuscola outlet on April 24, said Morrie Mendenhall, Tanger's general manager.
