Bakery distribution depot opens in Champaign

CHAMPAIGN — Aunt Millie's Bakeries, which supplies bread to stores including Meijer, has opened a branch distribution depot on Country Fair Drive in Champaign.

Black: Rewrite temporary sign ordinance

DANVILLE — At least one alderman wants to scrap the city's temporary sign ordinance and write a new one.

Alderman Bill Black said that's what he would like to suggest when the city council discusses temporary signs at its meeting Tuesday.

CHAMPAIGN — The University of Illinois will work with selected airlines in the next month or so in hopes of arranging new service from Willard Airport to the East Coast, a UI official said.

Clinton nuclear plant back on line

CLINTON — Exelon Corp.’s Clinton nuclear plant returned to full power Sunday, three days after an automatic shutdown due to a fuse failure, the company said.

Exelon said the unit shut down at 8 a.m. Thursday when the main generator tripped off line. The trip resulted from the failure of a fuse, which has since been replaced.
