URBANA — Wines at the Pines plans to close April 27 after a 3-1/2-year run at The Pines shopping center in southeast Urbana.

It's Your Business: Food truck, brewery teaming up Saturday

Two diverse businesses are joining forces for a special event on Saturday.

The Cracked Truck, a food truck that serves breakfast sandwiches, burritos, veggie wraps and specialty tater tots, will park across the street from Triptych Brewing at 1703 Woodfield Drive, Savoy, from noon to 3 p.m.

21 failed health inspections yielded 6 closures

Twenty-one restaurants in Champaign County failed health inspections between September 2012 and the end of February, with critical violations ranging from improper storage of food to employees failing to wash their hands.

Six were temporarily shut down.

More development planned near Rantoul Walmart

RANTOUL — Further development of the South Murray Road area near Walmart Supercenter in west Rantoul is expected to begin this spring.

Rural Rantoul farmer/businessman Joe Warner said work will begin on the 45-acre Stonebridge commercial property west of Murray Road plus a project east of that area.

It's Your Business: Firehouse Pizza plans May debut at Zelma's site

A pizza chain that got its start in the Peoria area is coming to the former Zelma's site on Windsor Road in Champaign.

Firehouse Pizza plans to open at 1103 W. Windsor Road, C, in mid-May, said Erik Perkins, who with his partners Marcus Hazel and Edward Flores operates three other Firehouse Pizzas in Illinois — at Washington, Morton and Normal.

KoFusion adds campus location

URBANA — KoFusion will open a second location this summer, this one on the University of Illinois campus, restaurant owner Janet Bubin announced.

The cocktail lounge and sushi bar has agreed to lease nearly 3,000 square feet in Gregory Place West, the commercial complex southeast of Krannert Center for the Performing Arts.
