URBANA — Joe Gordon credits a staff member at the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center doing a routine check for helping a teen boy detainee who apparently was trying to harm himself Tuesday afternoon.

Victim won't testify; charges dismissed

URBANA — An uncooperative victim led to the dismissal of felony charges against a Champaign man.

Champaign County Assistant State's Attorney Troy Lozar said he dismissed charges Monday against Allen Williams, 21, who listed an address in the 1400 block of Queensway Drive, Champaign, in connection with a Jan. 11 incident in Champaign.

Gun case brings probation

URBANA — An Urbana man who had a handgun within 1,000 feet of a park was sentenced Monday to 18 months of probation.

Robbery charges dismissed against man caught during chase

URBANA — Robbery charges filed in December against a local man were dismissed Monday.

Champaign County Assistant State's Attorney Lindsey Clark said she dismissed armed robbery and aggravated robbery charges against Lamont Taylor-Gwin, 22, because the victims had not cooperated with his prosecution.

Boil order issued for Aqua Illinois customers near Henning Road outside Danville

RURAL DANVILLE — Aqua Illinois officials today issued a boil order for customers along and west of Henning Road due to a water main break.

Officials said those customers should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation until further notice. That will kill any bacteria or other organisms that might be present in the water.

B) If you do drive yourself to the courthouse, do not park in a space reserved for a judge.
