CHAMPAIGN — The Champaign school board race was close — so close that just 30 votes separated the second-place winner, who won a seat, from the fourth-place winner, who didn't.
Five candidates were running for three four-year terms on the school board.
Lynn Stuckey earned 1,739 votes, finishing second behind Scott MacAdam, who had 2,043. That's a difference of 304 votes.
University of Illinois faculty members are being asked to complete a survey about how shared governance is working, or not working, at the department or unit level on campus.
DANVILLE — The Danville school board will have two new but familiar faces in May.
Newcomers Darlene Halloran and Lon Henderson, both former district employees, won seats on the board in Tuesday's election, along with incumbents Randal Ashton and Frank Young.
DANVILLE — Many of Greg Wolfe's family and friends knew he won a seat on the Danville Area Community College Board of Trustees in Tuesday's election long before he did.
That's because Wolfe, who's finishing his third term on the Oakwood school board, and his fellow board members were in a closed-session meeting until 10 p.m. Tuesday. His wife was waiting to give him the news.
ATWOOD — Residents of two school districts have voted to be combined into a single district.
Voters in the Atwood-Hammond school district voted 456 to 327 on Tuesday to be annexed to the Arthur school district, while voters in the Arthur school district voted 967 to 242 to approve the annexation.
CHAMPAIGN — Longtime Parkland College trustees Tom Bennett and James Ayers have been re-elected to the community college board.

CHAMPAIGN — Scott MacAdam, Lynn Stuckey and Laurie Bonnett won the top votes in a close Champaign school board race for three contested four-year seats.
MacAdam won the most votes, with 2,043. Stuckey followed with 1,739 votes and then Bonnett with 1,721.

URBANA — Incumbent Ruth Ann Fisher kept her school board seat, winning 55 percent of the vote in the only contested Urbana school board race.
She beat challenger Regina Parnell, collecting 198 votes to Parnell's 158.
