Danville street paving scheduled

DANVILLE — The following streets will be paved beginning Wednesday, weather permitting, according to Danville officials.

The portions being paved will be closed at times during the day over the next four days. City officials urge drivers to use caution throughout the work zones and to pay particular attention to street division traffic control and personnel flagging in the streets.

Part of Winchester in Champaign to be closed for pavement fixes

CHAMPAIGN — A portion of Winchester Drive in south Champaign will be closed this week while a portion of pavement is repaired.

In order to complete a large pavement repair at 1802 Winchester Drive, Feutz Contractors will close Winchester between Broadmoor and Brookhaven drives at 7 a.m. Monday. Weather permitting, it will reopen at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Hotel construction to close part of Church Street on Friday

CHAMPAIGN — A portion of Church Street in downtown Champaign will be closed Friday, the Champaign public works department announced.

In order to complete a large concrete pour at the construction site of the Hyatt Place hotel, 217 N. Neil St., English Brothers will close Church Street between Neil and Randolph Street between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday.

Portion of Eads Street to be closed

URBANA — A city streeet will be closed for several days while a water main is installed.

Weather permitting, Central Illinois Tile will close Eads Street between Wright and Romine streets to through traffic from 7 a.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. April 12, for installation of a water main at 1201- 1306 Brookstone Court.

Water-main work to affect Gilbert Street in Danville

DANVILLE — Aqua Illinois launched a construction project Tuesday in the 600 block of South Gilbert Street to repair a large water main break.

The main broke Monday; repairs should take about 10 days.

During that time, traffic in the north- and southbound lanes could be rerouted, officials said. They also told motorists to expect delays.

Plans to improve Main up for Urbana vote

URBANA — City officials will be working to rehabilitate Main Street through a portion of the city this year, and residents will be able to review the plans this week.

Reminder: Windsor Road work starts Monday

PARIS — Work begins Monday on the replacement of the bridge carrying Windsor Road over Interstate 57 in west Champaign.

The new bridge will be wider to accommodate pedestrians and bicyclists on both sides. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained on Windsor Road using temporary traffic signals.

I-57, Urbana projects on state's agenda

SPRINGFIELD — The state's $486 million roads and bridges construction program this spring includes an $8.4 million resurfacing of Interstate 57 north of Champaign, two projects in Urbana and a bridge replacement on Illinois 49 near Fithian.

Construction contracts for the various projects are scheduled to be awarded in late April.

Indiana Avenue to close for city tree work Friday

URBANA — The City of Urbana arbor division will close Indiana Street from Lincoln Avenue to Busey Avenue from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday for tree maintenance.
