URBANA — A contractor for the Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District will perform lining of an 18-inch sanitary interceptor that runs north along Urbana Avenue this week.
Insituform will line Urbana Avenue from Illinois to Main streets starting Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and ending Thursday at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
DANVILLE — Vermilion County officials are postponing a bridge project on Perrysville Road in response to business owners and Lynch Fire Protection District officials who object to closing the highway for two to three months this summer during the bridge deck replacement.
DANVILLE — Vermilion County residents will see all sorts of construction projects going on in 2012 — from wind turbines, to bike paths, to road reconstruction, to bridge replacements and the long-awaited construction of an overpass to replace the crumbling Fairchild Street subway in Danville.
CHAMPAIGN — Daniel Street between Fifth and Sixth streets will be closed to all through traffic this week while a storm sewer is repaired.
URBANA — Traffic will be reduced on Cunningham Avenue beginning Tuesday while fiber-optic conduit and handholes are being installed for the Urbana Champaign Big Broadband project.
DANVILLE — A one-block section of North Street in downtown Danville will be closed next week, beginning Tuesday.
North Street will be closed between Franklin and Walnut streets beginning Tuesday morning as crews start removing the concrete ramp from the west side of the city parking garage at Walnut and North streets.
CHAMPAIGN — Not only is a mild December in Champaign-Urbana leaving roads relatively clear of snow and ice, but if the trend continues, it could mean big savings for both cities' budgets.
CHAMPAIGN — Traffic will be reduced on Green Street in Champaign for water main work starting on Monday.
Illinois American Water will close one lane in the 1100 block of West Green Street at the intersection of Green and Chicago Avenue beginning Monday while it restores pavement from an emergency water main break. The lane is scheduled to reopen by Thursday, weather permitting.
CHAMPAIGN — It's going to be slow going at a major intersection in southwest Champaign from Wednesday through Friday.
Weather permitting, work to clean and televise storm sewers is planned at Duncan Road and Kirby Avenue.
SAVOY — Beginning Monday a portion of Prairie Rose Lane in Savoy between Dropseed Drive and Sunflower Street will be closed for about a week while a water service line is installed.
The street should be reopened on or before Dec. 12.
Motorists are encouraged to plan an alternate route.
