PAXTON — The developer of the Pioneer Trail Wind Farm near Paxton is making good on its contract to repair the 35 miles of township and county roads used to build the 94-turbine wind farm last fall.
As required by a road-use agreement with Ford and Iroquois counties, E.On Climate & Renewables recently began repairing the roads at the company's expense.
SEYMOUR — The Champaign County Highway Department will close County Road 200E south of Seymour this week while a culvert repair is done.
The road will be closed between county roads 1500N and 1400N starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
It is expected to reopen by 2:30 p.m. Friday.
URBANA — A 24-year-old section of Windsor Road in Urbana is in such deteriorated shape that it needs to be torn up and rebuilt, according to Urbana's public works director.
The mile-plus, four-lane section of concrete pavement between Philo Road and Race Street suffers from alkali-silica reaction, or ASR, in which the concrete bond breaks down and flakes into fragments.
DANVILLE — City officials are anticipating changes to the entrances of Lowe's and Tractor Supply on North Vermilion Street to accommodate the increase in traffic to the Meijer development.

SPRINGFIELD — The Quinn administration says it will repair 2,300 miles of road and 500 bridges over the next six years as it uses the last dollars from a massive public-works program.
URBANA — Repairs to a water main will close parts of a downtown Urbana intersection next week. Weather permitting, Shaw Brothers Concrete and Illinois American Water Co. will begin work at 7 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Main and Vine streets.
Different projects involving road and street resurfacing are slated to begin Monday.
A portion of Church Street in Urbana from just east of Lincoln Avenue to Busey Avenue will be closed for concrete pavement patching until May 11, depending on weather.
