URBANA — Traffic will be reduced on Lincoln Avenue in Urbana for two days for cable repair work.
A northbound lane of Lincoln Avenue will be closed from Clark Street to University Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. Monday.
North traffic will be routed to the inside lane of Lincoln Avenue during the project.
The lane is scheduled to reopen at 5 p.m. Tuesday, weather permitting.
CHAMPAIGN — Emergency street repairs will keep the westbound lane of Main Street just east of Neil Street closed through 9 a.m. Thursday.
The public is encouraged to obey all construction signs or plan alternate routes to avoid the work.
THOMASBORO — Starting in early April, a section of Interstate 57 in Champaign County will be resurfaced.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that 5.4 miles of southbound I-57 is slated to be ground down and resurfaced with asphalt mix.
The project runs from just south of Olympian Drive in Champaign to 2 miles south of Thomasboro.
URBANA — Windsor Road between Race Street and Philo Road will have a slight disruption in traffic for the next two weeks while work continues on the UC2B project.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, there will be periodic closures in the eastbound lane while a contractor continues to install fiber-optic conduit and handholes. Work on that section should be done by 5 p.m. April 6.
CHAMPAIGN — As winter breaks, that usually means public works crews are busy patching potholes — but this year, a mild winter helped pothole crews keep the cracks relatively under control.
City workers got an early start on streets that were not as bad this year. They say complaints are fewer than during a typical spring, but there's still plenty of work to be done.
A number of Champaign streets will have closures due to construction next week:
— Third Street between Green and John streets will be closed starting Monday so that a contractor can remove a pedestrian walkway over Third Street at 705 S. Third St.
CHAMPAIGN — With temperatures touching 81 on Wednesday afternoon, you might have forgotten that it's still technically winter.
Unusually warm temperatures — like this week's highs — and mild weather have been persistent for the past few months in Champaign-Urbana, and it's been so pervasive that it has even saved each of the cities tens of thousands of dollars.
CHAMPAIGN — Traffic will be reduced on Bradley Avenue in Champaign for storm sewer work.
One east lane and one west lane of Bradley Avenue between Oak Street and Carver Drive will be closed during the day beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday while Walden Associated Technologies Inc. cleans and televises storm sewers,
URBANA — Traffic will be reduced on University Avenue in Urbana beginning Wednesday for the installation of fiber optic conduit and hand holes.
A west lane of University Avenue will be periodically closed between Cunningham Avenue and Lincoln Avenue beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on University Avenue throughout the project.
URBANA — Traffic will be reduced on North Lincoln Avenue beginning Monday for curb repairs.
North traffic on North Lincoln Avenue will be reduced to a single lane from Fairview Avenue to Wascher Drive beginning at 7 a.m. Monday.
The lane is expected to reopen by 4 p.m. March 16, weather permitting.
