■ At Texas Relays. Danville senior Alexus Jimson-Miller advanced to today’s final in the 100-meter hurdles. On Friday, she ran the seventh-fastest qualifying time (14.36 seconds) in her first outdoor race of the season. Jimson-Miller holds the Danville school record in the event at 14.17, which she set as a junior.

CHAMPAIGN — Senior Kevin Johnson made quick work of Oakland in Illinois’ 4-0 nonconference baseball victory Friday at Illinois Field.
Johnson needed 79 pitches to post his third career complete-game shutout in a contest that took 1 hour, 43 minutes, the UI’s shortest game of the season.
MANHATTAN, Kan. — History is beckoning the Illinois women’s basketball team.
No group in the program’s history has advanced beyond the quarterfinals of a national postseason tournament.
The current Illini can change that today with a victory against Kansas State.

CHAMPAIGN — Three Illinois players with eligibility remaining — Mike Shaw, Devin Langford and Ibby Djimde — will not return to the program for the 2013-14 season.
The moves will free up three scholarships for Illinois.
Guided St. Thomas More to a runner-up finish in the Class 2A state tournament. The 32 wins — including 16 in a row — were two of 55 school records (for a season or game) the team set or tied. Among the others: points per game (67.0), field goal accuracy (47.2) and turnovers forced (26.5 per game).

CISSNA PARK — Josh Marquez went 3 for 3 with four RBI, leading Cissna Park to a 10-6 victory and a split in its baseball doubleheader against Momence on Thursday.
The Timberwolves lost the first game 13-11.
In the second game, Alex Rabe hit a two-run home run and Jacob Marquez went 3 for 4 with two RBI.
