PARK RIDGE — Illinois redshirt freshman Tony Dallago, who upset the nation’s No. 8 184-pounder Sunday, was named Big Ten Wrestler of the Week. The conference announced the award Tuesday.
Dallago, then ranked 15th, pinned A.J. Kissel in 2 minutes, 59 seconds to give the Illini the lead for good in their 26-15 dual victory against Purdue at Huff Hall.
Second half bedevils Illini women
MILWAUKEE – After a solid first half, the Illinois women's basketball team fell victim Tuesday to a team with a hot shooting touch.
Marquette hit 13 of its first 16 shots after halftime and surged away from the Illini for a 73-56 nonconference victory at the Al McGuire Center.
Which trend will bend?
The Illini have owned the Braggin' Rights series lately (9-1). What they've struggled with is beating ranked teams (3-7). So, with Missouri checking in at No. 9, which trend will take a turn Wednesday?
