Leshoure second-team All-America
Centennial product Mikel Leshoure was named second-team All-America today. The Illinois running back, an All-Big Ten choice, is expected to announce for the NFL after the Dec. 29 Texas Bowl.
Tate: Big Ten whiffed
OK, the Illini are now part of the Leaders Division in Big Ten football, and the opposing sextet will be the Legends (what is legendary about Nebraska in the Big Ten?).

I've always championed Tracy Abrams as a player. But it's not his vertical leap or ballhandling ability that sold me. It's the intangibles. He has the ideal mind-set for a lead guard, he listens to coaching, and he's a positive ambassador for his teams. "I love Tracy's toughness," Bruce Weber said Sunday. "We probably haven't had that since Chester (Frazier)."

MONTICELLO – Sammi Thompson led all scorers with 23 points as Monticello earned a 50-25 girls' basketball victory against Meridian on Monday. The Sages, who led 23-2 after one period, got nine rebounds from Ashley Dawson.
