GIBSON CITY – This is a basketball season when the Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley boys¿ squad has been accustomed to coming up short. When the starting lineups are an-nounced, the Falcons never have anyone introduced taller than 6-foot-3.

DANVILLE – An all-comers indoor track and field meet for males and females is Feb. 7 at Danville High School, beginning at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $1 per event, and individuals are limited to four events.

The IHSA announced Monday the awarding of a five-year contract to Baden to supply the official ball for postseason games in baseball, basketball, football, softball, soccer, volleyball and water polo.

Carter helps Danville pull surprise on Centralia

DANVILLE – D'Lando Carter tallied a game-high 14 points for Danville to help the Vikings (4-10) upset 13-3 Centralia 48-43 in nonconference boys' basketball Saturday.

"It was a major upset. Centralia is an outstanding program. Our guys stepped up and played extremely well," Danville coach Gary Tidwell said.

Zebe reaches milestone at Kesslers Shootout

TOLONO — On a night when Unity star Zebo Zebe set a school milestone, backcourt mate Kyler McFall stole the show.
McFall had 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists and Zebe became the first Rocket to score 1,000 points since NBAer Brian Cardinal in a 64-51 win against Central Catholic Saturday at Kessler Shootout at the Rocket Center.

Our winning streak is over, but not before we won our first 13 games. We're proud to be the team that broke the school record for victories to start a season, which was 12.

As we kept winning games, that record was one of our goals. We were all talking about it. Actually, we were hoping to go undefeated, but we can't now. Not after Chicago Hope beat us 50-48 in the championship game at the Kankakee tournament.
