PEORIA — Three officials from the Champaign-based Illinois Basketball Officials Association were selected by the IHSA to work tournament games this weekend in the 1A and 2A state finals at the Peoria Civic Center.

CHAMPAIGN — Normal Community racked up eight three-pointers against Champaign Central on Friday night.

FRANKFORT — The Urbana fan base grew in numbers on Saturday compared with Friday’s turnout. Superintendent Preston Williams, athletic director Greg Hall and school board president John Dimit were present. Williams and Dimit both made a ‘U’ symbol to the crowd when they received their state medals.
FRANKFORT — The Urbana boys’ soccer team was guaranteed to come home with a state trophy this weekend.
It just wasn’t the one the Tigers and their faithful were hoping for.
Peoria Notre Dame scored early, then added two more goals late to claim a 3-0 victory in the Class 2A state championship and deny Urbana its first state championship.
