CHAMPAIGN – A 35-degree night felt much colder for Urbana's Tigers.
Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin shoved the Tigers from soccer's Class 2A postseason Tuesday, posting a con- vincing 4-0 victory in the semifinals of the Centennial Sectional.
URBANA – On Tuesday, Centennial got even with Champaign Central.
On Saturday, the Chargers can do the same with Urbana in a boys' soccer Class 2A regional title match.
MONTICELLO – It was scoreless at halftime. It was all Sages after that.
Monticello (12-6-2) let loose with four goals in the second half in a 4-0 Class 1A regional championship victory Tuesday against St. Teresa.

DANVILLE – Scott Showers and Weston Depratt each scored first-half goals to lead Schlarman to a 2-1 win against St. Thomas More at the Schlarman tournament on Saturday.
Brett Carroll added an assist for the Hilltoppers, who placed second in the tournament.
CHAMPAIGN – Amid the yellow cards, hard feelings and intense play, Urbana's Tigers were able to keep their composure, for the most part.
URBANA – The bad news was Doug Mynatt's Urbana University High cross-country team was without No. 1 runner Malcolm Taylor for a couple of weeks with a respiratory infection. The good news for the Illineks is others used the opportunity to step up.
URBANA – Tim Parks scored two goals as Urbana beat Mattoon 5-0 in boys' soccer Saturday. Benjamin King, Ricardo Preciado and Manu Spooner also recorded goals for the Tigers.
URBANA – Sophomore Adam Blackman is the only non-senior in the Urbana soccer team's starting lineup.
On Monday, he was the only one who scored.
