DANVILLE – A month after Rich Stipp was a coach without a team, he became the person in charge of the Vermilion County championship girls' cross-country squad.

In recent weeks, the Hoopeston Area team has been transformed from a collection of individuals whose numbers weren't enough to be scored as a team to the best collective group of 3-mile runners in Vermilion County.
